5 top tips for getting back to training after the lockdown
During the COVID-19 pandemic many of us were forced to take a break from our usual sports and fitness routines. Gyms were closed and sports teams and clubs were forced to postpone their activities. What’s more, the closure of schools and childcare facilities and the move to working from home meant that many people struggled to fit in their usual exercise regimes. Thankfully after a difficult 18 months we are slowly returning to life as we used to know it. Here at SJF Fitness we are delighted to open our doors to new and returning clients. In this blog post I’ll be giving a few tips on starting exercise again after lockdown.
1. Ease Back In
After a break it’s important to ease back in. Start slowly and gradually build back up to your previous exercise levels. Here at SJF fitness we will assess your current fitness levels and recommend a new training plan to help you get back on track.
2. Pace yourself and listen to your body
Another reason that it’s important to ease back into your exercise regime is to prevent injuries. When starting a new fitness plan make sure to pace yourself and listen to your body.

3. Get a structured training plan
It’s always a good idea to get a tailored training plan from a qualified Personal Trainer. If you’ve taken a break during COVID then it’s even more important to get a training plan.
4. Don’t be too hard on yourself
Don’t worry if your fitness levels have dipped during the lockdown. The important thing is to start slowly and ease back in.
